When you start thinking about all the details that will go into your engagement photos one of the most important aspects of that day will be the location. The location of your engagement photos will set the tone of the finished product, and when the location reflects who you are as a couple your love for each other will shine through in your pictures. Your Toronto engagement photographer will have suggestions as to some great venues to consider, but here are some of the best venues in the GTA not only for your engagement photos but maybe even for your wedding photo shoot if you’re stuck on a location for those, too.

1. Osgoode Hall

This hall is a heritage building filled with years of legal history and is located in the heart of Toronto on Queen Street West. This landmark has been the center of legal history in Ontario for over 170 years. Osgoode Hall sits on over six acres of land and has had more than ten major restorations in its history. This venue for photographs offers both indoor and outdoor options. Its grounds are beautifully landscaped and are filled with flowers which are breathtaking while in full bloom. Indoors you’ll find unique architectural designs, including the incredible Great Library.

2. Silent Park

This is a park in the middle of downtown Toronto. Located between Osgoode Hall and Nathan Phillips Square, this mini oasis is a hidden gem in a busy urban setting. This park is just enough to help you forgot you’re in the middle of a large city. Located in this park is the Great Library of the Law Society of Ontario, which is the perfect background for wedding photos with a historic feeling. This green space is great for photos with a more relaxed feeling right in downtown Toronto.

3. Brookfield Place

Surrounded by Bay, Wellington, Yonge and Front Streets, this modern building sits at the heart of the financial district in the GTA. If you, as a couple, reflect a more modern and sophisticated feeling then this is the spot for you. It sits on 5 ½ acres of land, and boats multiple public areas filled with natural light. This building is internationally acclaimed for its architecture. Filled with clean lines and open spaces, this beautiful building is a wonderful spot for the modern couple to capture wedding photographs that truly reflect their personalities.

4.The Esplanade

This section of Toronto is a street that runs east-west along the central waterfront of Toronto.  This street is really unique in that there are various sections making up this street and it almost looks like they aren’t even the same street. On the blocks between Jarvis and Parliament, it’s fairly residential with many low-rise and mid-rise buildings complete with David Crombie park on the south side of the street. On the blocks between Scott and Market Street, there are lots of restaurants. What’s really great about this location is that you can take a variety of photographs all with different backdrops without having to go to a bunch of different places in the city.

5.Gooderham Building called Flatiron Building

What I truly love about making wedding pictures at Front & Church street area is the authentic feeling of busy Toronto. Walking down the Front Street you can feel the dynamic and energy of this incredible city. And just a corner away I know a hidden, quiet spot where we can take some engagement pictures with CN Tower in the background.
